London Showcase Concerts

Over the decades the Trust has arranged showcase concerts for BBT artists in small, intimate venues to introduce them to new audiences and also, on occasion, fundraise for special projects. A principal London venue is 22 Mansfield Street, former home of arts philanthropists Bob and Elisabeth Boas. BBT has also presented its artists at several International Artist Management Association (IAMA) conferences across Europe, including Diyang Mei, Alec-Frank Gemmill (horn), Byal Kang and Boris Kusnezow, and Bram van Sambeek.

Ahead of the release of her debut recital disc, Fantasy, Tessa played works from the album repertoire including Bach, Schubert, Kreisler and her own Appalachian Fantasy


Gloria Campaner piano

To mark the release of her album, Home, Gloria Campaner played a selection of Schumann Kinderszenen that also feature on this recording, which is a very personal homage to her growing up in her home city of Venice.


Dudok Quartet Amsterdam string quartet

For their intimate showcase recital, the Dudoks performed string quartets from across three centuries, by Haydn, Mendelssohn and Weinberg.

Quartetto Lyskamm string quartet

Recipients of the BBT Special Chamber Music Prize 2016, given in memory of Claudio Abbado, Italy’s Quartetto Lyskamm brought two major works by Schumann and Bartók.

In preparation for his Warner debut (released in 2016), Benjamin was joined by pianist Yekwon Sunwoo in repertoire including Janáček’s Violin Sonata and Kreisler’s Viennese Rhapsodic Fantasietta.

Sean’s January concert was a preview of his Wigmore Hall solo debut recital on 3 February, while the April recital was a fundraiser to help him purchase a new guitar made by the world-renowned Spanish luthier Francisco Simplicio.

This was another fundraiser to help with the costs of Elena’s ambitious recording of bel-canto repertoire with the Northern Sinfonia conducted by Richard Bonynge, which was released the following spring on Signum Records.

A special recital to launch the Walker Watkins Consortium, for the commissioning of a new flute concerto by Huw Watkins, the premiere of which Adam performed in February 2014 with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Harding.
