It’s such an incredible privilege to be supported in imagining and creating meaningful projects, and I’m honoured to be a part of this family. Music is such an essential part of human connection, and the work that BBT does to assist its artists is invaluable.
Born in New Zealand and domiciled in the US since the age of seven, Geneva soon forged a reputation as a musician of consummate artistry whose performances speak from, and to, the heart. Her intuitive and captivating performances – as a soloist in major recital venues and symphony halls from North America to the Antipodes by way of Europe and the UK – regularly have critics scrambling for superlatives. She thrives on collaboration with fellow musicians and was a co-founder of the award-winning Callisto Trio, Artist in Residence at the Da Camera Society in Los Angeles and, as a regular attendee of the Kronberg Academy in Germany and Marlboro Music in the US, she has developed a deep passion for chamber music.
Geneva drew upon her BBT funding to co-commission a new violin concerto from New Zealand composer Salina Fisher, due to be premiered with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in Cardiff in Spring 2027, and in Auckland later in the same year. In the meantime, she has been in the studio to record a debut concerto disc as a first CD released in a new relationship with the Alpha Classics label.
Geneva has been supported with a BBT Award since 2022.
