Alexandra Conunova - About

Being awarded a BBT Fellowship has been a major event in my life. It gives me the financial support to realise my musical ideas and therefore gives me my artistic freedom. And being on the same roster with so many great artists of such renown is a huge inspiration and motivation for me. A sincere thank you …

Alexandra Conunova (2017)

Moldovan violinist Alexandra Conunova continues to pursue an international career from San Francisco to Tokyo via Europe’s main classical venues. Playing as well as directing from the violin, her interests encompass chamber collaborations, not least with fellow BBT alumna Beatrice Rana.

In addition to contributing to a new bow, Alexandra was supported by her BBT Fellowship in a recording and accompanying promotional video for Aparté of both Prokofiev violin sonatas described by The Strad as: “… faultless, colourful readings in one of the finest recordings of the year”. Remaining BBT money was devoted to coaching.

Alexandra founded the VitArt charity foundation to help disabled people and young music students in her hometown of Chişinău, Moldova, and in 2015 she was awarded the honorific title Master of Arts by the Moldovan President.

Alexandra was supported with a BBT Fellowship between 2016 and 2018.
