It is a great honour to be a part of the BBT family. We feel very secure to have BBT as a partner supporting us in fulfilling our future goals.

Apollon Musagète Quartet (2015)

Internationally renowned, Poland’s Apollon Musagète Quartet continues its innovative approach to repertoire, spanning the classics of the string quartet repertoire, 20th century Polish classics and their own compositions. The Quartet has a strong connection to Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin Institute and its annual Europa Festival, not only giving live performances, but making recordings too. Chamber music collaborators include fellow BBT alumnus Martin Fröst.

BBT helped to fund travel expenses for a US tour, an upgrade to the Quartet’s website, new photographs, and a recording of quartets by Mendelssohn and Schubert released by Universal. The Schubert quartet, Death and the Maiden, was featured in a linked film, and was the work that the Quartet performed at BBT’s 20th anniversary celebration at London’s Wigmore Hall. The Quartet was also the subject of a BBT profile film, From Absolute Jest to A Multitude of Shades, which featured performances of works by John Adams and the quartet itself.

Apollon Musagète Quartet was supported with a BBT Award between 2014 and 2018.
