Being part of the BBT family is more than just financial support – it means being connected with people who really care about the artists. Especially in these difficult times we feel valued and encouraged to hold onto our artistic goals. Thanks to the support, we were not only able to continue the intense work despite the circumstances of Covid and to be productive in many ways, but also have the opportunity to produce a CD with a world premiere recording. We feel deeply honoured and thankful to have been given this award and would like to express our gratitude to the whole BBT family.
With a name formed by the initials of the players’ first names, the Aris Quartett was founded in 2009 at the Frankfurt University of Music under the guidance of chamber music professor Hubert Buchberger. Competition prizes duly followed as the Quartet forged its international career with regular tours across the Atlantic and visits to major European concert venues. The Quartet is also well represented on disc with ongoing releases.
The Quartet’s BBT Award helped the players purchase a supply of its Brahms CD to sell directly to the public when concerts re-started after the Covid lockdown. BBT then helped finance another recording on the GENUIN label with the title, Attacca, a pairing of quartets by Beethoven and Gerald Resch. Finally, BBT was pleased to support the Aris Quartett’s participation in the Young Academy scheme at Frankfurt University of Music and at the Società del Quartetto di Milano.
Aris Quartett was supported with a BBT Award between 2020 and 2023.
