Aronowitz Ensemble - About

For a young chamber ensemble with big dreams and aspirations but limited financial resources, it was beyond thrilling when the BBT appeared and – in fairy godmother-esque fashion – granted us the means to make many of these dreams a reality. Quite apart from the generous economic assistance, BBT’s personal guidance and advice has been invaluable at this pivotal stage in the Aronowitz Ensemble’s development … we are ever grateful to the wonderful BBT for their help and support

Aronwitz Ensemble (2010)

Aronowitz Ensemble was formed out of the desire of seven outstanding international musicians* who loved playing chamber music together and wanted to further explore programming possibilities for their highly adaptable combination of string sextet and piano. Covering a wide range of repertoire – familiar, neglected and new – their artistry and exuberance have captivated audiences throughout the UK and Europe.

BBT plugged into their energy and assisted in creating ‘From One to Seven’, a critically acclaimed series of four concerts at an intimate London venue programmed to showcase the ensemble performing in variously sized combinations. Their vibrant personalities and convivial exchanges in the development and execution of this project were caught to perfection in a BBT film, Lucky Seven. Concert clothes, new photographs and new website were also on the shopping list, as well as support for two recordings on the Sonimage label: the first, Climbing the Skies, with music by Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Huw Watkins and the second featuring music by Dvořák, Mendelssohn and Martin Suckling. As part of BBT’s 2012 tour the Aronowitz Ensemble gave the late-night Front Room concert at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
