Our video profile of Christian Poltéra was filmed in London in 2004 as part of an audio CD and CD-ROM produced by BBT to introduce that year’s Award and Fellowship Winners.
A select group of BBT Winners has gained valuable experience through BBT’s tours with Mitsuko Uchida (2004 and 2008) and Christian Tetzlaff (2006). Shot on location in Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, as the group prepared for their six-concert European tour, our film illustrates the value of the residency and the experience gained. With Christian Tetzlaff, Colin Currie, Soovin Kim, Christian Poltéra, Christianne Stotijn and Shai Wosner.
Christian Poltéra dedicated his BBT award to a long-held ambition to record the cello works of three Swiss composers, some of them now rarely performed and some never before recorded. The resulting three CDs on BIS (audio excerpts on this website), received widespread critical acclaim. We filmed with Christian Poltéra, producer Ingo Petry and pianists Kathryn Stott and Julius Drake, during recording in Stockhom in July 2006.
