For his debut recital disc, Eivind Ringstad is joined by his regular piano partner David Meier for a wide-ranging survey of solo pieces, from the 19th to the 21st centuries.  There are two direct connections to composers too: Eivind plays the 1768 ‘ex Vieuxtemps’ Guadagnini viola, so it’s entirely appropriate that the Belgian’s Elégie Op 30 is included on the disc; and the composer of the disc’s title work, Correspondances, young Norwegian Peder Barratt-Due was at the recording sessions for the work that he had written for Eivind and David for the 2018 Edinburgh International Festival. Eivind also includes one of his favourite pieces – Arthur Benjamin’s rarely heard Sonata.

Correspondances is released on Rubicon Classics on 23 October 2020.
