Gabriele Carcano - About

If there is something really important in the path of a young person, it is trust. BBT bears it not only in its name or with financial support but, most important of all, with a very careful guidance, generous human presence and exchange of ideas. That’s not only a big incentive but it concretely lets us have the possibility and space to keep searching for the best way to express our ideas and be faithful to our ideals. I feel so honoured to be part of such a fantastic family of people and musicians. BBT is a big lesson in generosity and such a wonderful demonstration of how talent and art are more important than any other kind of consideration. I’m deeply thankful to all the people who make this idea become a reality for all of us.

Gabriele Carcano (2011)

Italian pianist Gabriele Carcano is equally at home in recital, as a soloist with orchestras and in chamber music when his fellow musicians include, among others, BBT alumnae such as Viviane Hagner and Marie-Elisabeth Hecker.  He performs in prestigious halls and festivals throughout Europe, as well as in Asia and the Americas and is consistently praised for the clarity, expressivity and sensitivity of his playing.

BBT supported many of the early necessities of building a professional career, including new photographs and travel expenses to attend auditions and coaching sessions.  The Trust was also able to fund and set up the making of demo CDs and a video in London – a valuable and much appreciated first-time recording experience for Gabriele – as well as a showcase recital in London’s West End.

Gabriele was supported with a BBT Fellowship between 2010 and 2013.
