Thanks to BBT, my first recording, Shadows, became reality. I will never forget their support at such an important moment in my career – the beginning. I just feel grateful and lucky that I got the BBT fellowship. It is a great encouragement for young musicians, the way they work and the freedom they give us to use their help in such an important moment.
Hailed as one of the most inspiring oboists of his generation, with many important prizes to his name, Spanish-born Ramón Ortega Quero enjoys a successful and busy international career as a soloist and chamber musician. He is also First Principal Oboe of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2008.
With the support of BBT, Ramón made his debut solo recording, Shadows (Solo Musica), featuring French and Italian baroque music. Always appreciative of how important support and opportunity are in the early days of a young soloist’s career, BBT also arranged a showcase concert in London and funded a new website and publicity photographs for Ramón.
Ramón was supported with a BBT Fellowship between 2010 and 2013.
