Sol Gabetta - About

Winning a BBT Fellowship has been a marvellous experience on every level: artistic, musical, and human. It has given me the impetus and support I need to realise my artistic goals.

Argentine cellist Sol Gabetta is a highly sought-after musician, renowned for her virtuosity and charismatic performances as well as her adventurous spirit that drives her to endlessly explore new paths.  As well as her longstanding commitments to some of the world’s leading orchestras and her ongoing creative collaborations with fellow instrumentalists and conductors, she is also artistic director of two international music festivals.

BBT provided invaluable support in the early years of her burgeoning career by funding further studies, a photographic portfolio and the recording of a demo CD.

Sol was supported with a BBT Fellowship between 2003 and 2005.
