“Let go and give up your ego” at Verbier Festival Academy
Chamber music is central to the ethos of Borletti-Buitoni Trust and opening new doors to learning and development for its award winners is an important part of the Trust’s work. BBT’s support of the prestigious Verbier Festival Academy Chamber Music Programme for four consecutive years (2006-2009) was a fruitful collaboration which benefited a number of BBT artists including singers Ronan Collett (Prix Thierry Mermod for Voice 2006) and Joshua Hopkins (Prix d’Honneur winner 2008), violinists Jermolai Albiker and Vilde Frang, the David Trio, Jerusalem Quartet, Navarra Quartet and Quatuor Ébène (Prix d’Honneur winner 2007).
BBT filmed part of the Academy masterclass programme in summer 2007 with Heinrich Schiff (BBT Honorary Committee member) and Gábor Takács-Nagy (Professor of Chamber Music, Verbier Festival Academy) to illustrate the role and importance of chamber music in the life of all musicians.
